If you
would like to volunteer your time for a good cause, the Center for the
People In Need is looking for volunteers to distribute food on the 4th
Tuesday of each month. If
you are interested in helping out, call the union hall at 476-7470 and
let us know. Thank you.
We are currently in the process
of building a CWA nationwide “stewards army” for the purpose of enacting the Employee Free Choice
Act legislation and national healthcare reform, electing a labor
friendly President and other elected officials. Contact Zif if you are
interested in participating in this worthwhile endeavor.
Now that
summer is here, we will be working on the Memorial Garden on the west
side of the hall. We
removed a tree and are planning on adding a fence, and if anyone has
any ideas or would like to volunteer, please contact the hall.
NOTICE: American Income Life will
be contacting members about disability/life insurance. Active
members will automatically qualify for $2000 in the event of
dismemberment or death. If you are interested in other plans, it
is at your sole discretion/cost.

Union News:
CWA Local
7470 will pay members $15.00 for each non-member they sign up to join
the Union. If the non-member has quit the Union, and wishes to rejoin,
they must pay a fine. Listed below are the non-members.
Please take a few moments to check the list and see if the people you
work with are members. If not, sign them up and collect your
$15.00!
